Welcome to the Junior coaching resource page

As a North Wellington junior coach you have probably the most important role in developing and nurturing our clubs future. This page showcases tools and resources to assist you to deliver the best possible experience to your players and hopefully with your help instil a lifelong passion for Football in our North Wellington kids.

Presented here is a mix of club, NZF and Capital Football Resources that you can utilise in your training and on game days. We will look to add more resources that we believe appropriate in future.

Coaching a Junior Team is an incredibly rewarding experience and a good coach can make a big difference to not only a child’s footballing experience but also in their day to day life.

Below are links with a whole range of different ideas to try with Junior Teams, we encourage you to give things a go, Mix and Match. You can also find many resources on the Internet, but always be aware that not all information is good information, there is plenty of well-intentioned but not very good material out there, so if in doubt ask your more experienced club colleagues or one of the senior club coaching staff members.

Feel free to utilise the North Wellington Coaches Whats App Group (which all junior coaches can join) to ask questions and clarify anything. This group is designed to be a forum where coaches can ask each other questions and get support on any and all queries related to coaching a junior side at the club.

The club has plenty of experienced coaches and a number of full time coaching staff on board who are always happy to answer questions or assist so don’t be shy in asking.
