Napier Under-19s Tournament: Women's Side Reach Quarterfinals

At the recent Napier Under-19s Tournament, North Wellington fielded both Men's and Women's teams in the main draw, one of only two clubs in Welligton region who were represented in the main draw.. The Women’s side made a standout run to the quarterfinals for a second year in a row, showcasing the depth of talent in the Club’s youth ranks of the Women’s programme. This strong performance highlights North Wellington’s commitment to growing the Women’s game and providing equal opportunities for all players to compete and develop.

U17 Boys Youth National League Success

North Wellington's U17 boys' team has consistently competed at the highest youth level in New Zealand, making its mark in the prestigious Youth National League. The Club's presence in this league for the third year running reflects a strong commitment to our youth pathway, which emphasizes a player-centered approach and a focus on long-term development. This achievement is particularly notable at North Wellington as we are the only Wellington-based club outside the professional setup of the Wellington Phoenix to field a team in the U17 Boys Youth National League for three consecutive seasons.

Central League Youth Involvement: A Testament to Development

North Wellington’s youth development pathway was further underscored in the Men's 2024 Central League season, where an impressive 47% of the minutes played by the Men's team were represented by players under the age of 20. This statistic highlights the Club’s dedication to giving young players valuable experience at a senior level, ensuring they have the platform to progress and reach their full potential.
